Day 1: Arrival in Fes, Guided Tour of Fes City

Your 10-day adventure in Morocco begins with a warm welcome upon arrival at the airport or your accommodation in Fes. We kick off the journey by immersing ourselves in the highlights of Fes with the guidance of a local expert. Fes, renowned as one of the imperial cities, stands as the cultural and religious heart of Morocco.

Our day starts with a visit to the majestic Royal Palace gate, followed by a stroll through the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Within the Medina, we’ll explore the iconic Blue Gate, the historic Medrasa Bouanania, the vibrant Najjarine fountain, and the traditional Tanneries. We’ll also pay a visit to the ancient Quaraouin mosque and university, the oldest of its kind globally. Afterward, we venture beyond the Medina to explore the Jewish quarter, known as “the Mellah.” As the afternoon unfolds, we’ll drive to an ancient fortress for a panoramic view of Fes before returning to your Riad.

Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Sahara

Following a delightful breakfast, we embark on a southbound journey through Imouzzer to discover the charming city of Ifrane, often dubbed the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and cool climate. Our route continues to the enchanting cedar forest, home to Barbary macaques, offering a chance to connect with nature. Later, we proceed to Midelt, where you’ll have time for a leisurely lunch.

Our scenic drive then leads us through the picturesque Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the breathtaking Ziz valley, punctuated with stops for panoramic views. As the afternoon unfolds, we arrive in the Saharan oasis of Merzouga. Here, you’ll swap wheels for camels to journey across the sandy dunes, pausing atop a lofty dune to witness a mesmerizing sunset. Finally, we reach our desert camp, a blend of traditional nomadic tents and luxurious amenities, where you can savor Berber music around a crackling campfire under the starlit sky. Day 3: Explore Merzouga Region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga Lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove

A magical sunrise awaits those who rise early to greet the desert dawn. Following breakfast, we return on camelback to Merzouga, where our journey continues with a day dedicated to exploring the diverse landscapes of the Merzouga region. From vast sand dunes to wild lakes, mines, fossils, and lush oases, this area offers an array of outdoor activities and breathtaking sights.

Our adventure begins with an off-road excursion to an ancient eyeliner mine, followed by a visit to nomadic families in their traditional woven tents, where you’ll enjoy refreshing Berber tea and insights into their way of life. Next, we venture to the village of Khamlia to experience the vibrant rhythms of Gnaoua music and captivating dance performances. After a leisurely lunch, we’ll stroll through a palm grove before marveling at the serene beauty of Merzouga Lake, also known as Flamingo Lake. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

As the new day unfolds, we bid farewell to the desert and set our sights on Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, where a bustling souk awaits exploration. Continuing our journey, we venture to Erfoud, renowned for its fossilized marble workshops, before traversing the scenic Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves en route to the awe-inspiring Todra Gorges. Here, the Todra River has carved a majestic canyon, offering a playground for rock climbers and a spectacle for all to admire. Following a leisurely lunch, we proceed to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, pausing to marvel at the intriguing rock formations known as “monkey fingers” and enjoy panoramic views of the valley from a mountaintop vantage point. Day 5: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Skoura Palm Groves – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, our journey continues to Kalaa Magouna, where the fragrant Rose Valley awaits discovery, particularly during the annual Rose Festival in May. We then traverse the picturesque palm groves of Skoura before arriving in Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert, where a visit to the renowned film studios offers insights into Morocco’s cinematic heritage.

Next, we embark on a tour of the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site immortalized in numerous films and television series. Our scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains, via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, provides ample opportunities for memorable photo stops and panoramic vistas. After a delightful lunch, we arrive in Marrakech and settle into our Riad for the night.

Day 6: Guided Tour of Marrakech

Awake to another day of exploration as we delve into the vibrant city of Marrakech with the guidance of a knowledgeable local. Highlights of our tour include visits to the opulent Bahia Palace, the historic Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Quranic mosque. A leisurely stroll through the bustling souks offers opportunities to immerse yourself in the city’s rich tapestry of culture and commerce. After lunch near the iconic Jemaa El-Fna square, our journey continues with visits to the majestic Koutoubia Mosque and the tranquil Majorelle Garden. Finally, transfer to your accommodation, with free time to explore Jemaa El-Fna at your leisure.

Day 7: Marrakech – Essaouira

After breakfast, we journey westward to the coastal gem of Essaouira, known for its scenic beauty, rich history, and vibrant arts scene. En route, we’ll stop to admire the famous Argan trees and soak in panoramic views of the picturesque landscape. Upon arrival in Essaouira, formerly known as Mogador, we’ll explore its charming fishing port, ancient ramparts, and bustling Medina. Enjoy an overnight stay in Essaouira.

Day 8: Essaouira – Casablanca – Rabat

Following breakfast, our itinerary leads us to Casablanca, the economic heart of Morocco. Along the way, we’ll enjoy coastal vistas before arriving in Casablanca to visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, and stroll along the Casablanca Corniche. After lunch, we continue our journey to Rabat, the capital city, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 9: Sightseeing in Rabat – Chefchaouen

Begin your day with a exploration of Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the current capital. Highlights include visits to the iconic Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the historic Kasbah of the Oudayas. After lunch, we journey northward through Ouazzane to reach the enchanting Blue City of Chefcha

ouen, nestled in the scenic Rif Mountains. Enjoy an overnight stay in Chefchaouen.

Day 10: Chefchaouen – Tangier Airport

On the final day of your Moroccan adventure, depending on your flight schedule, you’ll have the opportunity to wander the picturesque alleyways of Chefchaouen before we embark on a scenic drive through the Rif Mountains to Tangier Airport for your departure. End of tour.
