10 Days Morocco Tour from Casablanca

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca [45 km]

Your 10 day Morocco tour begins in Casablanca. Upon arrival, we will pick you up from the airport or your accommodation. Your first stop is the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, perched dramatically on the Atlantic coast. After a guided tour, enjoy free time for lunch, then explore La Corniche, a scenic seaside promenade. Later, relax in your hotel for an overnight stay in Casablanca.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen [354 km]

After breakfast, we depart for Rabat, Morocco capital and one of its four imperial cities. Rabat blends rich history with a modern atmosphere, making it a fascinating stop. We begin our exploration at the Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret of a grand mosque dating back to the 12th century. Next, we visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture that houses the tombs of King Mohammed V and his sons.

We continue our journey by heading to the Kasbah of the Udayas, a picturesque fortress with blue and white alleys overlooking the Bouregreg River and the Atlantic Ocean. After some free time for lunch, we head north through the stunning landscape and the Rif Mountains to reach the blue city of Chefchaouen. This charming city is famous for its blue-washed buildings and peaceful atmosphere. Overnight in a traditional riad.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes [225 km]

In the morning, enjoy breakfast and take some free time to explore the charming streets of Chefchaouen, taking stunning photos of its blue alleys and old city. Later, we drive to Volubilis, a UNESCO-listed Roman archaeological site with well-preserved mosaics, ancient columns and arches. We will take a guided tour to understand the historical significance of this once thriving Roman settlement.

Next, we travel to Meknes, another imperial city known as the (Ismaili Capital) of Morocco. Highlights of our visit include Bab Mansour, one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After exploring Meknes, we continue to Fes, where we stay overnight in a beautiful riad.

Day 4: Exploring Fes with a Local Guide

Fes is the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco, and today we explore its highlights with an expert local guide. Our journey begins with a visit to the Royal Palace Gate, followed by a walking tour through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed medina of Fes, the world’s largest car-free urban area. We visit Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate), Al-Qarawiyyin University (the oldest in the world), Bou Inania Medersa, Nejjarine Fountain, and the famous Chaouara Tanneries.

After lunch, we explore the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) and visit a panoramic viewpoint offering stunning views of Fes. You’ll have free time in the evening to explore on your own before returning to your riad.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert [475 km]

After breakfast, we head south through Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco due to its Alpine architecture and cool climate. Our next stop is the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to the Barbary Macaques. You can feed the monkeys and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

We continue through Midelt for lunch before driving along the Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves and breathtaking views. By the afternoon, we reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, we switch to camels for a sunset trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Arriving at our luxury desert camp, you’ll enjoy traditional Berber music, stargazing, and a delicious dinner.

Day 6: Merzouga Desert Exploration

Wake up early the beautiful sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, return by 4×4 or camel to Merzouga. Today, we explore the Sahara, starting with a visit to an ancient Kohl mine. Then we meet a nomadic Berber family and learn about their way of life. Afterwards, we visit the village of Khamlia, where you will enjoy a performance of Gnaoua music played by descendants of African slaves. After lunch, explore the palm grove and visit the seasonal Lake Merzouga before returning to your hotel.

Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley [264 km]

After a delicious desert breakfast, we head to Rissani, a historic town known for its lively souk, where you’ll find a vibrant mix of spices, textiles, and handmade crafts. It’s also a great spot to see the traditional donkey parking lot, a reminder of the town’s past as a stop for desert caravans.

We then travel to Erfoud, famous for its fossilized marble workshops. Here, you’ll get a chance to see how ancient fossils are carefully transformed into stunning pieces of art.

Next, we explore the magnificent Todra Gorge, a paradise for rock climbing enthusiasts. The towering canyon walls make this valley one of the most scenic natural sites in Morocco. After lunch, we continue to the Dades Valley, passing through the town of Boumalne Dades. We stop at the Monkey Rock formations for a quick photo, then enjoy the stunning views of the valley before checking into a local hotel to relax for the night.

Day 8: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech [342 km]

We start our journey through the Valley of Roses, where vibrant rose fields stretch as far as the eye can see. Local women produce rose-based beauty products, and you may even stop by a cooperative to see the distillation process firsthand.

Next, we head to Ouarzazate, often called the Hollywood of Morocco, where movies like Gladiator and The Mummy were filmed. We visit Atlas Film Studios, the world’s largest film studio, and explore some of the movie sets used in big Hollywood productions.

Afterward, we visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient ksar (fortified village) made of mudbrick, which has been featured in numerous films and TV shows. After wandering through its narrow alleys and climbing to a viewpoint for panoramic views, we continue our drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. The winding roads offer stunning vistas as we make our way to Marrakech, where we check into a cozy riad for the night.

Day 9: Guided Tour of Marrakech

Today, you’ll explore Marrakech with a local guide, starting at the Bahia Palace, a beautiful example of Moroccan architecture with stunning courtyards and intricate decorations. We continue to the Saadian Tombs, an ancient royal burial site that’s hidden away behind a simple wall but contains breathtaking mosaics.

Next, we visit Ben Youssef Madrasa, an old Islamic school renowned for its beautiful tilework and carved wood details. No visit to Marrakech is complete without seeing the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in the city.

In the afternoon, we head to Jemaa el-Fnaa, the iconic square filled with street performers, snake charmers, musicians, and colorful stalls. It’s a sensory overload in the best way, and you’ll have time to explore the souks and pick up some unique souvenirs.

To end the day, we visit the tranquil Majorelle Garden, famous for its vibrant blue buildings and lush plant life. Created by French painter Jacques Majorelle, the garden offers a peaceful retreat from the city hustle. The evening is free for you to explore Marrakech at your leisure, whether it’s relaxing in a café, shopping, or enjoying a traditional Moroccan hammam.

Day 10: Transfer to Airport (Casablanca or Marrakech)

On the last day of your 10 days in Morocco itinerary, we will transfer you to the airport in either Casablanca or Marrakech, depending on your flight schedule.
