Itinerary of 6 Days Tour from Marrakech
Day 1: Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges [325 km]
On the first day of our 6-day tour from Marrakech to Casablanca, we’ll journey to Boumaln Dades, where we will spend the night. Departing Marrakech at 8:00 am, we’ll traverse the stunning Atlas Mountains, enjoying their breathtaking landscapes and panoramic views. Our first major stop is the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, where we’ll explore its fascinating structure and rich culture, learning much about its historical significance.
Afterward, we’ll relax and have lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Ouarzazate, renowned for its film studios and cinematic history. We’ll discover more about the famous movies filmed here before continuing our journey through the beautiful Roses Valley, known for its scenic landscapes and vibrant roses. Finally, we’ll arrive at our hotel/riad in Boumaln Dades, where we’ll spend the night.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Draa Valley – Rissani – Merzouga [269 km]
After enjoying breakfast at your accommodation, we’ll begin the second day of our 6-day tour from Marrakech to Casablanca by leaving Boumalne Dades for the Sahara Desert, specifically Erg Chebbi, via Tinghir city. Our first stop will be the Todra Gorge in Tinghir, a magnificent location nestled between towering mountains with a river running through it. We’ll explore the source and flow of the water and take in the stunning scenery of the Todra Valley, lined with around 30 palm groves.
Once we’ve explored Tinghir, we’ll proceed to a small nearby town for lunch at a traditional restaurant popular with tourists. After lunch and a brief rest, we’ll continue to Erfoud. Upon arrival, we’ll meet our camel guide and embark on a camel ride through the small dunes towards our desert camp. Along the way, we’ll pause to witness a breathtaking sunset and capture some memorable photos.
Upon reaching the camp, you’ll be warmly welcomed and shown to your tents. After dinner, enjoy an evening filled with Berber music, a campfire, and a sky full of stars. This promises to be a magical night, giving you an authentic taste of Berber hospitality and the beauty of the Sahara Desert.
Day 3: Exploring Merzouga area & Visit nomad families [60 Km]
After enjoying the sunrise and breakfast, we’ll begin the third day of our 6-day tour with an exploration of the desert surroundings. Our first stop will be to visit the nomadic people, learning about their unique way of life and the reasons they choose to reside in the Sahara Desert. Next, we’ll head to a small village inhabited by black people who will share their vibrant Gnawa music and rich cultural traditions with us. Following this, we will visit a nearby lake that serves these villages. Afterward, we’ll have lunch at a restaurant in the center of Merzouga and take a leisurely walk around the area. Finally, we’ll head to your hotel, where you’ll spend the night, resting and reflecting on the day’s discoveries.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Azrou Cedar forest – Fes [467 km]
After delicious breakfast, we’ll be traveling through the stunning Ziz Valley to Errachidia and Fes. We’ll make a brief stop to capture the panoramic views of the Ziz Valley before continuing through the Atlas Mountains and the Zaabel Tunnel, which lies between Errachidia and Midelt. Upon reaching Midelt, we’ll enjoy lunch and learn more about this charming town.
Our journey continues to the Azrou forest, home to wild monkeys living peacefully in their natural habitat. After exploring the forest, we’ll head to Ifrane, renowned as the cleanest city in Morocco and home to a prestigious university where both Moroccan and international students study. We’ll visit the famous stone lion in Ifrane before heading towards Fes and over night in the beautiful Riad.
Day 5: Visiting of Fes with a local guide
We will begin our tour with a delicious Moroccan breakfast before exploring Morocco oldest city, Fes. Our guided tour will start at the mesmerizing Royal Palace, where you’ll admire its magnificent brass doors, surrounded by intricate zellige and carved cedar wood. Next, we’ll visit The Mellah, the first Moroccan Jewish Quarter, followed by the Jnane Sbile Gardens with their beautiful natural views and Moroccan fountains.
As we wander through the narrow streets of the old Medina, you’ll see the finest Moroccan handicrafts and experience the captivating architecture and culture of one of the oldest medinas in the world. We’ll explore the city’s most notable historical sites, including the University of Al Qarawiyyin, El Merenid Tombs, Bab Boujloud, Chouara Tannery, and the Madrasas.
After an unforgettable guided tour of this ancient city, we will return to the hotel or riad to relax for the rest of the evening and spend the night.
Day 6: Fes to Casablanca [297 km]
On the final day of our 6 days tour from Marrakech to Casablanca, we’ll start with a morning departure from Fes. We’ll take the fastest route, approximately a 4-hour drive, to Casablanca. Upon arrival, we’ll visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Africa and the third largest in the Arab world, where you’ll have 1 hour and 30 minutes to explore this magnificent structure. After the mosque visit, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Following lunch, we’ll proceed to your hotel, where you’ll spend the last night of the tour. If your flight is scheduled for that day, we will drop you off at the airport; otherwise, we will drop you off at your accommodation. This marks the end of our journey together.
