Itinerary of Day Trip to Essaouira from Marrakech

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your accommodations to start our day trip to Essaouira from Marrakech.  With that being said, we will take a scenic 3-hour journey to the port city of Essaouira.  Indeed, this is one of the most scenic routes out of Marrakech.  Also, if we’re lucky we’ll get to see tree-climbing goats eating argan fruits by the road.  

Upon arrival to Essaouira, we will start exploring the ancient town and the medina. For sure, the old medina is an incredible experience for visitors. The windy city exhibits narrow streets, art galleries, fresh seafood places, and a variety of street vendors. 

First, we’ll proceed to the medina’s vibrant souks which offer a variety of artisan goods. Next, we will visit Scala, Sidi Mohammed ben Abdallah Museum, and, the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter. Not to mention, for lunch we’ll head to one of the many seafood places to taste the Essaouira catch of the day.

After lunchtime, we will go to see the coastal part of the city.  In brief, the port and the famous fortresses-built centuries ago are must-see places.  Then, we go to the Sgala de la Kasbah which is situated along the coast.  Here,  you get an idea of what the historical Essaouira looked like centuries ago.  For sure, the old village still has some of its ancient architecture intact. It’s a beautiful place to see. 

Afterward, we will head to the beach for a walk.  Here, you can admire kite surfers who do their amazing stunts. Late in the afternoon, we will set off on our return journey to Marrakech.  So, we should arrive around 6 pm which marks the end of our single-day Essaouira tour. You will be dropped off at your accommodations.
