Day 1: Arrival to Tangier – Chefchaouen [124 km]

On the first day of your 5 days tour from Tangier to Marrakech, we’ll begin by picking you up from your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier, often referred to as the bride of the north. Situated northwest, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Spartel, Tangier offers a captivating start to our journey.

Our first stops include exploring the beautiful city, visiting the cave of Hercules, and taking in the scenic views at Cape Spartel. Afterward, you’ll have free time for lunch before we head inland towards Chefchaouen. Along the way, we’ll pass through Tetouan and traverse the picturesque Rif mountains, making stops for breathtaking panoramic views. Your day concludes with an overnight stay at a hotel in Chefchaouen, where you can unwind and prepare for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes [252 km]

After breakfast at your riad/hotel, take some time to explore the charming alleyways of Chefchaouen, famously known as the blue city. Our 5-day desert tour then continues towards the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a remarkably well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at the intricate mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways scattered throughout this historical gem.

Following our exploration of Volubilis, we’ll journey 30 km to Meknes, the Ismaili capital. Here, we’ll visit the iconic landmarks including Bab Al Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Our next destination is Fes, where you’ll enjoy an overnight stay in a traditional riad, immersing yourself in the rich cultural ambiance of this historic city.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga Desert [468 km]

After breakfast at your riad/hotel, our journey south begins with a scenic drive through Imouzzer to reach Ifrane. Known for its cool climate, snowfalls, and alpine-style architecture, Ifrane is often dubbed the Switzerland of Morocco. We continue to the nearby cedar forest, home to Barbary macaques, offering you a chance to interact with these fascinating creatures amidst the forest’s serene beauty.

Next, we head to Midelt for lunch and then proceed through the Tizi-n Tilghmt pass, providing breathtaking panoramic views of valleys and landscapes. In the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Here, you’ll go on a camel ride across the sandy dunes, pausing atop a high dune to witness the mesmerizing sunset.

Later, we reach our desert camp, a harmonious blend of traditional nomadic tents and hotel comforts. Enjoy Berber drum music and dance by the campfire under the starry desert sky, immersing yourself in the unique hospitality of the Sahara. Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley [271 km]

Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise over the Sahara Desert a must do experience that sets the tone for the day. After breakfast, we depart from the desert and head to Rissani, once the capital of Tafilalet and still a bustling trading center with its lively souk, particularly vibrant on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Continuing our journey, we visit Erfoud to explore a workshop specializing in fossilized marble. Passing through the scenic palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, we reach the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved out a breathtaking canyon ideal for rock climbing and leisurely walks amidst spectacular natural scenery. Afterward, we proceed through the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, making stops to marvel at the unique monkey fingers rock formations and enjoy panoramic views from a mountain overlook. Dinner and overnight accommodations await at a cozy hotel, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s adventures in the serene landscapes of Morocco.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech [331 km]

After breakfast at your riad/hotel, we continue our journey to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival held each May, showcasing local products like perfumes, rose water, oils, and cosmetics. Passing through Skoura palm groves, we explore the Kasbah of Amredhyle before arriving in Ouarzazate.

In Ouarzazate, we tour renowned film studios where many blockbuster movies were filmed and visit the historic Taourirt Kasbah. Next, we visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Continuing through the Telouet Kasbah, we journey to Marrakech via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch and scenic photos along the way. Finally, we drop you off at your Riad in Marrakech, concluding your memorable 5-day tour of Morocco.
