Tour Plan:

Day 1: Casablanca » Rabat » Meknes » Fes [271 km]

Welcome to Casablanca! We leave Casablanca for Rabat on the first day of our 8 days Morocco tour. You will visit Hassan II Mosque, which is the biggest mosque in Morocco. After that, we will travel to Rabat, one of Morocco’s four royal cities.

Here we will undoubtedly see the Kasbah of Oudayas and the Unfinished Tower of Hassan. After that, we will travel to Meknes and Volubilis. The most southerly frontier of the Roman Empire’s famous Roman ruins may be seen in Volubilis.

Meknes is then considered the birthplace of the first Arab dynasty founded by Moulay Ismail. It is home to the Madrasa Bou Inania and the Bab Mansour. You will take your time to explore that all before reaching Fes and checking into the hotel or Riad where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Fes Sightseeing with a Local Guide

On this day, after your breakfast, we will meet up with a local official tour guide to start our journey to “the oldest living Medina in the world”. We will take a walking tour of Medina, stopping at its “souks’ (markets), the Royal Palace’s entrance, the Karaouine Mosque from the ninth century, and the University.

Additionally, we will go to the tomb of “Moulay Idriss” who founded the city. One of the quaint eateries in the historic Medina will host lunch. After lunch, we will carry on with our tour and stop at the Batha Museum, the historic Harem Garden, and the Nejjarine Fountain. We will pause on the way back to the riad/hotel.

Day 3: Fes » Ifrane » Azrou » Midelt » Ziz Valley » Merzouga Desert [463 km]

We start the day with a pick-you-up from your hotel/riad and will drive to Azrou in the south. We will pass through Ifrane (Morocco’s Switzerland), where we’ll stop at a cedar forest on the way. Once you’ve had the chance to snap some wonderful pictures with the Barbarian apes, we will proceed into the Atlas Mountains.

After lunch, we will continue through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga. There will be a cup of tea waiting for us when we get there. Staying at the hotel/riad for overnight.

Day 4: Merzouga Sightseeing [60 km]

We begin our exploration of Erg Chebbi’s dunes in the morning. We will visit a Berber home and take in some Gnawa music, which has roots in Sudan. We will return to Merzouga after lunch.

Head for the camel ride through the dunes. In the middle of the Sahara, we will spend the night in a camp. Here you will have a wonderful opportunity to capture beautiful images of the sunset.

Get to the camp and play around the Campfire while music is turned on. Later sleep under the uncountable stars in a Luxury private tent.

Day 5: Merzouga Desert » Rissani » Todra Gorges » Dades Gorges [271 km]

Wake up early in the morning to watch the sunrise up the dunes before going back to Merzouga. Here you will have an opportunity to take a shower and have a lovely breakfast.

We start our journey to Rissani, a small town 30 KM away from Merzouga, where you will have a chance to discover the local market and buy souvenirs like fossils, carpets, lamps, and other things.

On the way to Dades Gorges, we will explore Tinghir and the magnificent Todra Gorge. It is one of Morocco’s tallest and narrowest valleys. A gorge is an excellent place for walking, sitting by the river, and enjoying some regional Berber culture. Following a meal in the middle of the gorge, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley.

Complete the day by spending the night in a nice hotel perched atop a mountain.

Day 6: Dades Gorges »  Ouarzazate » Ait Ban Haddou » Marrakech [330 km]

After a fantastic breakfast, we will drive directly to the Skoura oasis, moving on from the Dades valleys. The great Oasis of Skoura and its incredible Kasbah Amridil are a few distances from here, so we will arrive in Ouarzazate to explore the Atlas Film studios.

Another gem of Morocco is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Since 1987, Ait Ben Haddou has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was originally a significant halt on the caravan route from Marrakech to the Sahara.

Take your time to explore it and have lunch in a local restaurant before getting to Marrakech in the evening. We will arrive at the hotel or Riad to spend the night.

Day 7: Marrakech Sightseeing with a local guide

At around 9:00 am, and after you had your Moroccan delicious breakfast, most of the day will be spent in Medina. This is where you will have a full-day guided tour.

This sightseeing tour includes visits to the El-Koutoubia mosque, the Saadian tombs, and the Menara Gardens. You can also try to eat local food like Tanjia and Tagin before going to the hotel or Riad.

In the riad you will have a delicious dinner and a comfortable sleep.

Experiences to keep for life!! We booked a 7-day private tour with Best Morocco Travel. Hassan was instrumental in providing us with authentic local experiences. Through him, we saw the best in Morocco. He made a special arrangement for us to taste the best couscous in Morocco!! The bbq meats and tagine meals were super-licious!! The accommodation arrangements exceeded our expectations. We had an unforgetable time in the Merzouga desert and Essaouira. After the trip, we agreed with him – should not have spent a previous day in Casablanca. Thank you to Hassan and the agency!
