Day 1: Arrival to Tangier – Chefchaouen [124 km]

Afterward, enjoy some free time for lunch before we head inland towards Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the scenic Rif mountains with stops for panoramic views along the way. Finally, we’ll drop you off at your accommodation for an overnight stay in a hotel in Chefchaouen, where you can unwind and immerse yourself in the city’s charm.

Day 2: Sightseeing Chefchaouen the blue city

After delicious breakfast, your 10-day Morocco holiday continues with an exploration of Chefchaouen, also known as Achaoun, nestled in the Rif mountains of northwest Morocco. Renowned for its picturesque blue and white buildings and alleyways, we’ll begin by wandering through its charming old Medina adorned with authentic blue doors. In the afternoon, you have the option to hike to the Spanish mosque situated on higher ground, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire blue city below. You’ll spend the night in the same hotel, allowing you to soak in the tranquil atmosphere and vibrant culture of Chefchaouen.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Roman ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes [252 km]

After breakfast, take some time to explore the picturesque alleyways of Chefchaouen blue city. Later, we’ll journey to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its well-preserved mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways. Following a leisurely stroll through history, we’ll drive 30 km to Meknes, once the Ismaili capital, where you’ll visit landmarks like Bab Al Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum.

Continuing our journey, we head to Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional riad, where you can unwind and immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of this imperial city.

Day 4: Guided Tour of Fes

After breakfast, we’ll collect you from your accommodation in Fes to begin our exploration of this imperial city, celebrated as a cultural and religious center in Morocco. We’ll start at the Royal Palace gate before delving into the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Passing through the iconic Blue Gate, Bab Boujloud, you’ll be guided through historic landmarks like the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, the vibrant Tanneries, and the prestigious Quaraouin Mosque and University, its the oldest one in the world.

Leaving the Medina, we’ll venture into “the Mellah,” Fes’ historic Jewish quarter, and ascend to an ancient fortress for sweeping panoramic views over the Medina and the city of Fes itself. Concluding our day’s exploration, we’ll return you to your riad, where you can relax and contemplate the rich cultural tapestry and historical legacy you’ve experienced in Fes.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga Desert [468 km]

Day 6: Exploration of Merzouga Region [80 km]

Our day begins with an off-road excursion to visit an ancient eyeliner mine, offering insights into local industry and history. We then visit nomads in their traditional handwoven tents, experiencing their lifestyle while enjoying a cup of Berber tea.

Next, we head to Khamlia village, where vibrant Gnaoua music and dance performances await. Originating from sub-Saharan Africa, the inhabitants share their rich cultural heritage. After a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, we stroll through palm groves and venture a few kilometers to the picturesque wild lake of Merzouga, often frequented by flamingos. We conclude our day back in Merzouga with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel, reflecting on the day’s enriching experiences amidst this desert oasis.

Day 7: Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley [271 km]

Wake up early to witness the stunning desert sunrise, an essential experience on our itinerary. After breakfast, we depart from the desert to explore Rissani, once the capital of Tafilalet and still a bustling trading hub with its vibrant souk bustling on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Strolling through the lively market, we continue to Erfoud, where we visit a workshop renowned for fossilized marble craftsmanship.

Continuing through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, we arrive at the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved a magnificent canyon with towering red cliffs, a haven for rock climbers. Take time to wander and admire the breathtaking landscape before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. Our journey then leads us through Boumalne Dades to the Dades Valley, punctuated by the distinctive rock formations known as the “monkey fingers” and a scenic viewpoint overlooking the valley. Day 8: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakech [331 km]

After breakfast, our journey continues towards Kalaa Magouna to explore the Rose Valley, renowned for its annual Rose Festival held in May, where locals showcase a variety of rose products including perfumes, rose water, oils, and cosmetics. Passing through the picturesque palm groves of Skoura, we visit the historic Kasbah of Amredhyle before reaching Ouarzazate. Here, we tour the studios where numerous famous movies were filmed and visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah.

Next, we will visit to the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and backdrop to several Hollywood blockbusters such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as the popular TV series Game of Thrones. Continuing our journey, we explore the historic Telouet Kasbah before crossing the scenic Tizi-N-Tichka pass through the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we make stops for lunch and photo opportunities at breathtaking viewpoints. Our day concludes with an overnight stay at a Riad in Marrakech, where we immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of this iconic Moroccan city.

Day 9: Guided Tour of Marrakech

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we will have a guided tour to explore the highlights of Marrakech, one of Morocco renowned imperial cities. Our itinerary includes visits to the Bahia Palace, the historic Saadian Tombs, and the impressive Ben Youssef Quranic mosque. We also delve into the bustling atmosphere of the largest traditional souk in Morocco, offering a vibrant display of local crafts and goods.

Following a break for lunch near the lively Jemaa El-Fna square, we continue our exploration with visits to the iconic Koutoubia mosque, the largest in Marrakech, and the tranquil Majorelle Garden, renowned for its botanical beauty and vibrant blue hues. The day concludes with a transfer back to your accommodation, where you can opt to explore further at your leisure in the enchanting Jemaa El-Fna square.

Day 10: Transfer to Casablanca airport from Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll collect you from your accommodation in Marrakech. Depending on your flight schedule, we’ll proceed towards Casablanca, with a potential visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque if time permits.
