Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat [87 km]

Upon your arrival at Mohammed V airport in Casablanca, you will receive a warm greeting. From there, our team will escort you to your hotel.

If your flight arrives early, we will take advantage of the time to explore Hassan II Mosque, renowned as the second largest mosque globally, and other iconic landmarks such as Place Mohamed V, the historic Hassan Tower, and the Andalusian-style Oudayas Kasbah, all significant sights in Morocco. Rabat, where these landmarks are located, boasts a rich cultural heritage with the Hassan Tower dating back to the 12th century and the Oudayas Kasbah, an 11th-century fortress. Afterward, you will be driven back to your riad for an overnight stay.

(If your arrival time is late, we will accommodate your schedule in Casablanca and arrange the visit to Rabat for the following day.)

Day 2: Rabat – Chefchaouen [248 km]

Following breakfast, we travel through the picturesque Rif villages via Wazan, a delightful small city. Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, you’ll immediately immerse yourself in the city’s enchanting ambiance. Our exploration of the (Blue City) begins with a local guide, offering insights into one of Morocco most captivating destinations.

Chefchaouen intimate size and serene atmosphere make it ideal for leisurely exploration. As you wander through its winding streets, you’ll encounter notable landmarks like the Kasbah, a meticulously restored fortress featuring a charming garden, a small ethnographic museum, and a quaint art gallery. Each part of Chefchaouen adds to its unique allure and cultural richness. After a day of discovery, we retreat to our riad for the night.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes [262 km]

After breakfast at the Riad, our trip commences with a visit to Volubilis, passing through Wazan and other Rif villages. In Volubilis, we explore the Roman ruins and delve into the archaeological significance of this historical site in Moroccan history. Our next stop is Moulay Idriss, a city nestled on the rocky slopes of the Khyber and Tazga hills, characterized by its dramatic architecture cascading down the hillsides.

From Borj Nord, we will enjoy panoramic views of the city. Entering Pujlod’s main gate, we will explore the historic University of the Villagers, the world’s oldest university.

Our journey continues to the Chouara Tannery, known for its leather production. Afterward, you will have free time to further explore Fes before heading back to your accommodation. Enjoy the wonders of this fantastic city.

Day 5: Fes – Ifran – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga [463 km]

After breakfast, our journey from Fes takes us into the majestic High Atlas Mountains, a region of unparalleled natural beauty and historical significance in Morocco. Our first stop in Ifrane two, often referred to as the (The Switzerland of Morocco) due to its Alpine architecture and cool climate.

Continuing through the Cedar Forests of the Middle Atlas, we pass through diverse landscapes, including the renowned cedar woodlands inhabited by the endangered Barbary Apes. The road then winds through the Ziz Gorges, offering dramatic views as we descend towards the lush Tafilalt oasis, a verdant contrast to the arid surroundings.

Passing through towns like Errachidia, where we’ll pause for a traditional Berber lunch, and Erfoud with its desert vistas, we eventually arrive in Rissani, an ancient town and former capital of the Tafilalt region. Day 6: Sightseeing Merzouga [80 km]

Sunrise peeking out over the dunes in the Sahara is an experience of a lifetime. Set the alarm early so you won’t miss this spectacle. After an enjoyable morning in the desert, we will take a camel ride back to Merzouga via some Berber villages. Our driver will wait there to take you on a more immersing drive into the desert.

We freshen up and pack necessities for the road, and a 4×4 off-road vehicle is ours to head into the desert. We will meet nomads living in camps, and get to listen to live Gnawa music by the Gnawa tribes on the way. The off-road drive will take us deeper into the desert to Lake Dayte Sarje. See the oasis at the dunes and visit a site of black volcanic rocks.

Then we will stop at Rissani to explore the souks there for the best part of the afternoon. In the evening we will be back in Merzouga where we will stay for the night.

Day 7: Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges [290 km]

After waking early for a stunning sunrise over Merzouga, you’ll trek back to the village, marveling at the ever changing colors of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Following breakfast at your riad/hotel, the journey continues through the Dades Valley, renowned as the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Passing through Rissani and Erfoud, famous for their archaeological treasures and fossil beds, we proceed to Tinghir, where traditional Berber villages dot the fertile oasis landscapes. Here, the highlight awaits at Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon boasting cliffs that soar up to 300 meters, offering a breathtaking natural spectacle.

Driving through the Dades Valley reveals majestic sand castles and unique rock formations dubbed monkey toes, amidst the rustic charm of Berber settlements. As the day winds down, we pause to witness the mesmerizing sunset along the Tssidrine road, a perfect end to a day filled with natural wonders and cultural immersion.

Day 8: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Ait Ban Haddou – Marrakech [330 km]

After breakfast at the hotel, our journey through Morocco continues with a scenic drive through the Dades Valley, famous for its ancient Kasbahs lining the renowned Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We’ll pause in Kalaa-Mgouna, known as the rose city, where you can explore its annual Festival of Roses and shop for local rosewater and cosmetics. Continuing onward, we’ll visit Skoura and the Valley of Birds, featuring mud brick Kasbahs like the well-preserved Kasbah Ameridil. After a leisurely hike and lunch overlooking the valley, we’ll proceed to Ouarzazate, dubbed the Hollywood of Africa, renowned for its striking landscapes and film studios where you can see props from famous movies.

Next, we’ll visit the UNESCO-protected Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, marveling at its architecture and panoramic views of lush palm groves.
