Day 1: Arrival to Tangier – Chefchaouen [124 km]

On the first day of your 7 days Morocco tour from Tangier, we begin by picking you up from your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier, often referred to as the bride of the north. Located northwest where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Spartel, Tangier sets the stage for our adventure.

Our first exploration includes the beautiful city itself, the legendary Hercules Cave, and the scenic Cape Spartel. Afterward, enjoy some free time for lunch before we will take a journey inland to Chefchaouen. We pass through Tetouan and traverse the picturesque Rif mountains, pausing along the way for breathtaking panoramic views. Tonight, we settle in for an overnight stay at a hotel in Chefchaouen, where you can unwind and immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere of this captivating blue city.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Roman ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes [252 km]

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the picturesque alleyways of Chefchaouen, famed for its enchanting blue architecture. Following this serene exploration, we proceed to visit the well-preserved ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the intricate mosaics, majestic pillars, and graceful archways scattered throughout this historical site.

Continuing our journey, we travel 30 kilometers to Meknes, once the capital of the Ismaili dynasty and a prominent imperial city. Here, we delve into the rich history of Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary, and conclude with a visit to the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Later in the day, we head towards Fes, where you will spend the night in a traditional Riad, immersing yourself in the cultural and architectural splendor of this ancient city.

Day 3: Fes Guided Tour

After breakfast, we pick you up from your accommodation in Fes to begin exploring this historic city, renowned as one of Morocco imperial cities and a cultural and religious center. Our first stop is the Royal Palace gate, followed by a visit to the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The entrance to the old Medina is marked by the iconic Blue Gate, or Bab Boujloud, where you’ll embark on a guided tour led by a local expert.

Inside the Medina, you’ll visit significant landmarks including the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and the esteemed Quaraouin Mosque and University, recognized as the oldest university in the world. After exploring the Medina, we proceed to the Jewish quarter known as the Mellah. Later, we drive to an ancient fortress for panoramic views overlooking the Medina and the city of Fes before returning you to your Riad/hotel to conclude the day adventures.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga Desert [468 km]

After breakfast, our 7-day Morocco tour continues southward through Imouzzer to reach Ifrane, celebrated for its cool climate, snowy winters, and charming alpine-style architecture, earning it the moniker the Switzerland of Morocco. Continuing our journey, we explore the cedar forest where Barbary macaques roam freely, offering opportunities to observe and even interact with these fascinating creatures amidst the tranquil surroundings.

Later, we proceed to Midelt for a leisurely lunch break before traversing the scenic Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and tracing the breathtaking Ziz Valley, pausing along the way for panoramic views of the picturesque landscapes. In the afternoon, our adventure leads us to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Here, you’ll transition to camelback and have a memorable ride across the sandy dunes, culminating in a stop atop a high dune to witness the mesmerizing desert sunset

Day 5: Explore Merzouga Region [80 km]

After breakfast, our day in Merzouga begins with an off-road excursion to an ancient eyeliner mine, exploring local history and traditional practices. We then visit nomads in their woven tents for Berber tea, gaining insights into desert life.

Next, we head to Khamlia village for lively Gnaoua music and dance performances, originating from Mali, Sudan, and Niger. After lunch at a local restaurant, we stroll through peaceful palm groves before visiting the wild lake of Merzouga, known for its flamingos. We return to Merzouga for dinner and an overnight stay, reflecting on the day’s cultural and natural wonders.

Day 6: Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley [271 km]

Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise a must do experience in the desert. After a leisurely breakfast, we depart from the desert and head to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet and a prominent trading hub still bustling with life, especially during its lively souk days on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Next, we traverse through the picturesque palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges. Carved by the Todra River, these dramatic red cliff-sided canyons provide an ideal setting for rock climbing and leisurely walks amidst stunning natural scenery. After ample time to appreciate the gorges, we pause for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing our route through Boumalne Dades to the Dades Valley. Along the way, we stop at the iconic monkey fingers rock formation and a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Dades Valley. Conclude the day with a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at a hotel, reflecting on the day’s memorable experiences.

Day 7: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakech [331 km]

After breakfast, our 7 days tour from Tangier towards Kalaa Magouna, where we explore the Rose Valley. Annually in May, this region hosts a vibrant Rose Festival where locals showcase their rose derived products, including perfumes, rose water, oils, and cosmetics. Moving on, we drive through the palm groves of Skoura to visit the impressive Kasbah of Amredhyle. Our journey then leads us to Ouarzazate, renowned for its film studios where famous movies have been filmed, and to the historic Taourirt Kasbah.

Next, we venture to the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and fortified village known for its appearances in numerous films like Gladiator, Alexander, Mummy, as well as TV series such as Game of Thrones. Continuing our exploration, we visit the Telouet Kasbah before embarking on our journey to Marrakesh through the scenic Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we pause for lunch and capture memorable moments at picturesque spots. Finally, we conclude our journey by dropping you off at your Riad accommodation in Marrakech, marking the end of your unforgettable one week in Morocco itinerary from Tangier.
