Day 1: Welcome to Tangier – Chefchaouen [124 km]

Your 5 days desert tour from Tangier begins with a pickup from your hotel, the airport, or the port in Tangier. Located where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean, Tangier is one of Morocco most fascinating cities and the perfect place to start your adventure. Before leaving the city, you’ll visit the scenic Cape Spartel and the famous Hercules Cave, one of Tangier’s most popular attractions. After some free time for lunch, we continue our journey through the beautiful Rif Mountains, passing Tetouan and stopping at panoramic viewpoints along the way.

By late afternoon, we arrive in the charming blue town of Chefchaouen. Surrounded by the Rif Mountains, this peaceful destination is known for its blue-painted streets, local artisan shops, and relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy some free time to explore the picturesque medina before spending the night in a comfortable riad or hotel.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Fes [262 km]

After breakfast at your riad, you’ll have time to wander through the beautiful streets of Chefchaouen, often called the Blue Pearl of Morocco. Its narrow blue alleyways, lively squares, and local craft shops make it one of the country’s most photogenic destinations. We then continue to Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco, where you’ll discover impressive mosaics, ancient columns, and historic archways.

Later, we drive to Fes, Morocco cultural and spiritual capital, where you’ll spend the night in a riad and prepare for the journey toward the Sahara Desert.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga Desert [468 km]

After breakfast, we begin our scenic drive south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, a beautiful mountain town known for its clean streets, alpine-style architecture, and cool climate. We then continue to the cedar forest near Azrou, where you’ll have the chance to see the famous Barbary macaques in their natural habitat before heading to Midelt for lunch.

In the afternoon, we travel through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm groves and panoramic views, before arriving at the spectacular Merzouga Desert. Here, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable camel ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, stopping to watch a magical Sahara sunset.

After reaching your desert camp, you’ll be welcomed with traditional Moroccan hospitality. Enjoy a delicious dinner, listen to Berber music around the campfire, and spend the night in a luxury desert camp.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley [271 km]

Wake up early to enjoy the best sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes before breakfast at the camp. We then leave Merzouga and head to Rissani, the historic capital of the Tafilalet region, where you can visit its traditional market if your tour falls on a market day. Our next stop is Erfoud, where you’ll discover a local workshop specializing in fossilized marble before continuing through the oasis towns of Touroug and Tinjdad.

Later, we arrive at the magnificent Todra Gorges, where towering canyon walls create one of Morocco most impressive natural landscapes. You’ll have time to take a relaxing walk through the gorge and enjoy the scenery before continuing toward the beautiful Dades Valley.

Along the way, we’ll stop to admire the unique Monkey Fingers rock formations and enjoy panoramic views over the valley. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at a comfortable hotel surrounded by the stunning landscapes of southern Morocco.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech [331 km]

After breakfast, we continue through the beautiful Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival and locally produced rose-based products. We then travel through the Skoura Oasis before visiting the historic Amridil Kasbah, one of the best-preserved kasbahs in southern Morocco. Our journey continues to Ouarzazate, where you’ll visit the famous film studios and the historic Taourirt Kasbah.

Next, we explore the spectacular Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous fortified villages. This ancient ksar has appeared in several international films and TV series, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. In the afternoon, we cross the scenic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with plenty of opportunities to stop for photos along the way.
