Hassan Ouargaga

I'm Hassan, and I started Best Morocco Travel in Marrakech. For years most of our guests came to us through travel agencies abroad: they sent us their clients, and my team and I took care of everything on the ground, from the airport pickup to the last night in the desert. Today travellers can plan directly with us, and I still look at every trip myself.

I don't hand you a fixed package. I ask who is travelling, how fast you like to move and what you really want to see, then I build the route around that and choose the riads, kasbahs and camps we know. When something on the road changes, my team is one message away, day or night, for as long as you are in Morocco.

Why I write these guides

The guides on this site come from the questions guests ask me before they book: is the tap water safe, what do I wear in November, how long is the drive to the dunes really, is Fes safe at night, how much should I tip. I answer them the way I would answer a friend who is coming to visit.

• The routes in the guides are routes we drive with our own guests. When a road, a hotel or a price changes, the guide is updated, and the date at the top shows when.
• Distances, temperatures and visa rules are checked against official sources, not copied from other blogs.
• If a month is a bad time for the desert, or a city needs a bit more care after dark, the guide says so. I would rather you come at the right time than book the wrong trip.
